Salvatore Alessi
Salvatore Alessi was born in San Cataldo, Sicily in 1977. After attending the Art Institute, he enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Palermo, specialising in set design.
He then began working as a set designer: he worked in the theatrical set for the Politeama theatre in Palermo, and the Massimo theatre in Catania.
In 2006 he devoted himself to professional painting, with permanent exhibitions at the “Polittico” gallery in Rome and the “Libra” contemporary art gallery in Catania. With the latter, he took part in two collective exhibitions curated by the well-known art critic and curator of the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, Beatrice Buscaroli.
In early 2009 he was a finalist in the “Premio Arte” and in 2010 he was a finalist in the “Premio Lissone”. He has exhibited his works in numerous national and international exhibitions. He participated in the 54th edition of the Venice Biennale.
