Alex Folla
Born in Oggiono in 1980, Alex Folla graduated with top honors from the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera.
He then further specialized in painting, also with top honors, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara.
His artistic research quickly directed him toward the naturalistic representation of the human figure, particularly attracted by the painting language used by the Masters of the Italian Seventeenth Century, technically known as “pittura a risparmio” (economical painting).
Since 2005, he has engaged in an intense exhibition activity both in Italy and abroad.
In 2015, he held an exhibition and related workshop on the theme of Seventeenth-Century Italian painting in Russia, at the Triumph Gallery in Moscow, and later in the USA at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri.
At the same university, he conducted a course on Caravaggesque painting.
In 2016, in collaboration with the Getty Museum, he organized an exhibition and related workshop at
the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles on the theme of Renaissance painting.Since then, his academic and artistic activities have continued in Italy and abroad, creating numerous commissioned works, the latest being “Gigantomachia,” a mural painting over 200 square meters at Galleria Vik in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan.
